For decades, a huge wooden sign nearly 65 feet long and 12 feet high stood atop a hill behind what is now 225 Adams Street in Bedford Hills. The lighted sign, easily visible from across the valley, identified both Bedford Hills and Bedford Hills Concrete Products Corp. Founded in 1925 and located along the Harlem Division of the New York Central we originally manufactured concrete block and cast concrete products. Our raw materials were first mined from local sand banks and later imported by truck and rail from the north.
In 1942, while being converted to a WWII troop ship the French luxury liner Normandie burned and capsized in New York harbor. Bedford Hills Concrete Products manufactured the heavy concrete counter weights used to upright the valuable vessel.
During the 1960s, Bedford Hills Concrete Products Corp. stopped its manufacturing operation to focus on becoming a masonry and landscape supply yard. Our inventory was expanded to include veneer and flagstone, brick, fireplace materials, sand, gravel, mulches and related supplies. In 1989 we changed our name to Bedford Stone & Masonry Supply Corp. to better reflect the scope of products sold.
Bedford Stone & Masonry Supply Corp. continues as a 5th generation family owned and operated business and is regarded as a premier source for quality masonry products. With our vast selection and exemplary service, we offer the type of attention to detail that you’d expect from a family business that has stood by its name for over 90 years.
